Free School SuppliesAt the beginning of a new school year, many families find themselves scrambling to prepare their children to return to school. Each year, children need new clothing and shoes and often new school supplies as well. Many teachers have lists of supplies that they require for their classes. While it may seem daunting to think about acquiring all the things a child needs for school, there are places families can go to find free school supplies. If you are in need of free school supplies, one of the best places to begin is by contacting your childs school office. Rest assured you are not the only family in the district who made need some extra help buying school items. Almost all school will treat your inquiry as confidential and maintain you and your childs privacy. Often school districts have extra supplies they will share with families in need and if they do not have items available, they may be able to provide you with community contacts for free school supplies. In the community you may want to contact service organizations such as the local Salvation Army, Rotary, Kiwanis or Lions clubs. Explain your situation to them and ask if they offer free school supplies to families in need. If they do not, ask if they know of any place which provides this kind of assistance. As you search for free school supplies, be patient. It may take a few calls before you find an organization or person who can help you and your family. It is difficult to tell others you are in need of assistance, but keep in mind you are not the only family that has ever needed help. By reaching out and seeking assistance to help your children obtain school supplies, you may come in contact with other resources which could be of use to your family or another family you know. Once you do receive assistance, be sure to thank the person or organization which helped you. A little t |
