School BackpacksEach school year, kids want to be up on the latest styles and fashions. This includes clothes, shoes, new gadgets, and backpacks. Backpacks are a great way to allow your kids to express themselves while still serving a purpose: to hold books and school supplies easily. Today, school backpacks come in a wide variety of styles, colors, and sizes. You can usually find backpacks at a number of places including large retailers like Target or Wal-Mart, office supply stores and sporting goods stores. Ask your child what size backpack they think they will need and go over everything they predict they’ll need to carry in it at school. Make sure it has plenty of room for books. Look for school backpacks with lots of extra pockets to hold things like pens and pencils, and other small supplies. Pockets with a zipper are best since they will keep the items secure and prevent them from falling out. Today, backpacks come in different varieties with logos, cartoon characters, animals, or even movie characters. Ask your child what kind of backpack they’d be comfortable wearing to school. Most high school or older students prefer backpacks with just a solid color or simple graphic. Aside from how it looks, it’s important that the backpack fits your child properly. Be sure the straps are padded to prevent pain or injury, and make sure they are adjustable to fit them comfortably. Today’s modern backpacks are made with more ergonomic features to help prevent excess burden on the back, which can cause back pain. Look for school backpacks that are waterproof and sturdy. Read product reviews online to help you ensure you’re getting a high quality backpack for the money. A truly good one will last your child beyond just one school year and should be able to grow with them as they progress in their education. |
